2020 Hot Wheels Muscle Mania ’64 Nova Wagon Gasser

For the most part I’ve been staying away from the big box stores during the pandemic, so I know I’m missing out on a lot of the recent release Hot Wheels. Fortunately, my friend, Brad, has been keeping an eye out for me and sent me a nice box of “new” stuff last month. Now that the 2021 cars are out, I’m glad to get my hands on this 2020 Muscle Mania ’64 Nova Wagon Gasser. This casting was new for the 2019 Race Day series; click here to see both variations of that model.

In addition to this red version, the 2020 Muscle Mania ’64 Nova Wagon Gasser can also be found in blue and light green paint.

2017 Hot Wheels Flames and 2016 Muscle Mania ’63 Chevy II

A guy down the street from me owns a ’63 Chevy II and I always enjoy seeing and hearing it rumble down the street when he takes it for a spin. Fortunately, Hot Wheels decided to include the ’63 Chevy II in the HW Flames series. I’m not sure my neighbor – whose car is black –  would approve of this pink, yellow and orange paint scheme, but I think it looks pretty sweet. The Super Treasure Hunt version has 5-spoke mags, Real Rider tires and Spectraflame Magenta paint.

I’ve also recently found the metalflake dark red variation of the 2016 Muscle Mania Chevy II, which first appeared in dark blue paint.

When we were visiting my wife’s family in Canada back in July, I picked up another blue one for the packaging variation. The front of the package has slight differences from the U.S. version and the back has to make room for four different languages. Also, you may notice my wife’s home town of Mississuga, Ontario appears in bold down in the fine print.

2016 Hot Wheels Muscle Mania ’64 Chevy Impala

There is a new variation of the Hot Wheels ’64 Chevy Impala in the 2016 Muscle Mania 5-pack. Normally when I get one of these multi-packs, I open it up and take out the car that I’m after. But I like all of the other cars in this pack – a metalflake gold ’69 Ford Mustang, a metalflake sea green ’74 Dodge Charger, a metalflake dark orange ’55 Chevy Nomad, and a metalflake blue ’67 Pontiac Firebird 400 – so much that I decided to keep them together in the box. At least for now.
